After wowing Vancouver audiences with their performance of Michael Gordon’s Timber in 2013, VNM is excited to welcome back Mantra Percussion. Committed to honoring the deep past and expanding the far-flung future of percussion music, Mantra brings to life works for percussion by living composers. The ensemble returns to Vancouver with a program that includes three brand new pieces written specially for Mantra: Mantra Groove by Canadian composer Paul Dolden*, Moment of Inertia by New York-based composer Tristan Perich, and A Great Many by Aaron Siegel, alongside Lesley Flanigan’s Hedera.
