Bill Coleman + Gordon Monahan (Toronto) – Dollhouse

Presented with The Dance Centre

March 12-14, 2020; 8PM each night
Scotiabank Dance Centre (677 Davie Street)

Choreography/Dance: Bill Coleman, Music: Gordon Monahan (Canada)

In Dollhouse, Canadian contemporary dance master and choreographer Bill Coleman portrays a figure whose whole world is literally falling in around him. Inhabiting a cluttered room that collapses and breaks at his every touch, Coleman shares the stage with sound artist Gordon Monahan, who uses handmade and found mechanical and electronic objects to create a dynamic and precarious live score that accompanies the descent into theatrical disintegration.

Dollhouse, a duet between contemporary choreographer Bill Coleman and experimental composer Gordon Monahan, is an hour-long immersion into a hyper-sensory world in which sound, light and movement volley between chaos and control” – Globe and Mail
