Heather McDermid holds a BA in Radio and Television Arts from Toronto Metropolitan University, and an MA from the Centre for Cross Faculty Inquiry in Education at UBC, where she engaged in arts-based research to examine the interplay between collectively run spaces, and artistic creation. She is a musician and sound artist who has performed and has contributed to exhibits and events in Canada, the US, Japan, Norway and Portugal. She is a longtime collaborator with visual artist Keith Langergraber to create animation, music and sound design for art films and installations, and worked as Production Manager for his 2021 Vancouver Art Gallery Offsite sculptural installation, The Dusk Meridian.
