Musicians from the community and beyond will perform works by Howard Skempton in a two-day concert at the Roundhouse. The works will be presented as a walkthrough installation and feature a rotation of pianists. Howard Skempton is a composer, pianist, and accordionist from England. His compositions are minimalistic, melodic, and often free from formal development; a refreshing turn from the often chaotic sounds of our busy world.

The Vancouver Park Board marks the celebration of the late Canadian composer R. Murray Schafer – to engage in the art of noticing with our ears.
The Vancouver Soundwalk Collective will lead audiences on a listening journey through Vancouver parks and cityscape. The walk culminates in a free performance featuring Schafer’s Okeanos, a multi-channel audio work diffused through composer Giorgio Magnanensi’s unique installation of 8 reclaimed wood resonators.
Nowadays, nobody seems to have the time to listen because they are just rushing through everything. Listening is an art that requires patience, and to remind people of its benefits. The day is hosted by the World Listening Project in honour of . . .R. Murray Schafer, who was born on July 18, 1933. – India.com
