The workshop is now full. We will be taking a few names for a wait list.
Email heather@newmusic.org or call 604.633.0861 if you would like to be put on our wait list.

Pantayo is an all-women, lo-fi, R&B, gong punk collective based in Toronto. They combine percussive metallophones and drums from kulintang traditions of Southern Philippines and synth-based electro grooves.

In advance of their concert on April 27, Pantayo will host a free workshop from 5pm to 7pm on April 26 at Pyatt Hall (843 Seymour Street).

Workshop participants will receive an overview of historical and contemporary kulintang music, learn about current kulintang groups in the diaspora, and then will break off into smaller groups for a hands-on kulintang lesson with Pantayo ensemble members.
