In November 2017 Vancouver New Music was pleased to host Uri Caine in Vancouver to develop a live remix performance of some of his compositions for piano and string quartet. He collaborated over two days with local musicians to create a unique program that blended notation and improvisation. In advance of the concert, Caine stopped by the VNM office to chat with Artistic Director Giorgio Magnanensi about the process, his classical remix works, improvisation, collaboration, and more.
