Vancouver New Music celebrates its 50th season with a sold out performance, an unconventional festival of music for pipe organ, and the Vancouver premiere of a Pulitzer Prize winning work.
Alessandro Cortini of Nine Inch Nails fame starts off the season with a sold out performance of his experimental, ambient music (Oct 1) followed by a free artist talk and Q&A (Oct 2). Both events are co-presented with Chan Centre for the Performing Arts.
Local and international artists bring unique sounds and unexpected approaches to Vancouver’s largest pipe organ for Vox Organi (Oct 19-21), the latest instalment of Vancouver New Music’s annual festival.
Vancouver New Music is excited and honoured to present the Vancouver premiere of Voiceless Mass by Diné-American composer, musician and sound artist Raven Chacon (Nov 18), the first Native American to win a Pulitzer Prize for Music.
